1 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon Ground Cardamom

2 tablespoons Brown sugar

2 tablespoons Cornstarch

1 teaspoon Vanilla

2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon Salt

For the topping, add all streusel ingredients into a large mixing bowl, except for the butter. Whisk to combine. Add the butter and flake through, either with your finger tips or a pastry cutter, until course meal is formed. Place bowl in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Place a 10-12 inch cast-iron skillet over medium heat, along with 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter is melted at the apples and cook for 2-3 minutes. Off heat, add the remaining skillet apple ingredients and stir.

Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the apple mixture. Place skillet in the oven and bake a 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes. Apples will be soft and the topping will be a medium brown color.

Allow the apple streusel skillet to cool for 10 to 20 minutes before serving. Serve with whipped cream, crème fraîche, or ice cream.
